2. Ghevar : This dish is particularly made during the ‘Gangaur’ festival of Jaipur. It’s around shaped cake made with flour and sugar syrup. The flavour of this dish is at it’s best when served with another sweet dish Rabri on top. Do try it during your time in Jaipur.

3. Rabri : As mentioned in the previous one, Rabri is another sweet delicacy of Jaipur. It’s often served with Ghevar. However, one can obviously give it a try without Ghevar too. Made with dense milk and sugar, Rabri is absolutely brilliant with nuts mixed in it.

4. Feeni/Phenni : Feeni is made mostly in the winter season. Thin vermicelli is fried in ghee and then dipped in sugar syrup. It also has a mild taste of saffron in it. This crispy dish is served with hot milk which makes the taste even better. It’s foolish to miss Feeni, while staying in Jaipur, especially in Winter.

5. Mawa Kachori : Who doesn’t like Kachori on a Sunday morning, stuffed with potato and served with spiced dal. But isn’t this a sweet dish listicle? Yes. Mawa Kachori of Jaipur is an absolutely tempting sweet dish. These sweet little Kachoris are stuffed with Mawa inside and soaked in sugar syrup after being fried in ghee. So, maybe the morning spicy kachoris can be replaced with these Mawa versions in Jaipur.

6. Mohanthal : This special semi-sweet dish is made during the festival of Diwali. With a base of chickpea flour and mawa, sugar is added after it’s cooked in ghee. The mixture is then spread across a flat tray and cut into pieces once the temperature comes down. Mohanthal is best for those who are not inclined towards extremely sweet dishes.

7. Shrikhand : After straining water from curd, it’s mixed with sugar and whipped until smooth. Then a little bit of saffron and cardamom is added for flavour. Shrikhand is a perfect summer dessert, served in a clay pot. It is somewhat like lassi, but a much richer version of it. It should not be missed if visiting Jaipur in summer.

8. Gajak : Gajak is a winter sweet of Jaipur. It’s made with Jaggery and sesame seeds. The temperature goes down a lot in Jaipur during the winter season. So, these jiggery infused sweets are recommended as it keeps the body warm from inside.

9. Makkhan Bada : This delightful dessert is made in Jaipur during the summer days. As the name insists, this bada absolutely melts in your mouth like Makkhan or Butter. The dough is prepared with flour, ghee, curd and soda. Then divided into small balls and a hole is made in the centre. It resembles ‘Mendu Vada’ of South India a lot. Unlike ‘Mendu Vada’, Makkhan Bada is fried in ghee and soaked in sugar syrup afterwards. You have to wait until it comes down to room temperature before you taste it.

10. Khopra Barfi : This is again a summer delicacy of Jaipur. During Holi, this adds up to the enjoyment of the festival. A mixture of coconut powder, mawa, dry fruits and sugar syrup is flattened across a tray. Then cut into small pieces after it settles. Garnished often with saffron and dry fruits of on top.
