Switzerland’s Leading Hotel 2017: The Carlton Hotel St. Moritz

The five-star Carlton Hotel St. Moritz was recently awarded the title of  ‘Switzerland’s Leading Hotel’ at the World Travel Awards, for the second consecutive year. And, it was also awarded the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Award,  for ‘Best Hotel in St. Moritz‘. (The Carlton Hotel was ranked third in the Best Hotels in Switzerland” behind Geneva’s two luxury hotels, Hotel d`Angleterre and Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.) 

The Carlton Hotel St. Moritz will start its new winter season on 8th December. This year’s highlights will include the Polo World Cup, White Turf, and Urs Wiederkehr’s outdoor butler service. The 52-year-old has lived in St. Moritz for more than 30 years and, as a former ski instructor, knows the Engadine like the back of his hand.

“Last winter, Urs was a true must-have for our guests, and this is why we decided to expand the service”, explains Mr. Clarinval, Director of the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz.

The exceptional chaperone service is based on Urs’s local knowledge and social network, and focusses on hidden jewels, insider tips on culture and history, traditional craftsmanship, and regional food production. This winter, for the first time, the service can be booked for small groups.
